COVID-19 - Likely effects on LCV's task programme

In line with government advice published on 2020-03-16 to avoid any unecessary travel and social gatherings we are now cancelling tasks in our programme 3-4 weeks ahead of the date of the task.

While this step is regrettable it is our collective responsibility to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus at this time. LCV do not wish to encourage volunteers to potentially put themselves and others at risk of infection by running tasks and, particularly, by using our minibus to transport volunteers.

The situation continues to evolve and we are mindful of the need to resume activities once the social distancing requirements are relaxed. Therefore we are still allowing bookings onto tasks that are not yet cancelled. While it is highly likely that many of these tasks will eventually be cancelled, we're hopeful that with some bookings and tasks in the pipeline we'll be ready to resume work as soon as the situation permits.

Information about task cancellations will be posted on the task pages on the LCV website and any affected volunteers or clients will be informed beforehand, just as they would if a task was cancelled for other reasons.
