Committee meetings

We meet at 16 Forth Street (off Broughton Street) at 7.30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month. Look for our sign hanging on the railings.

Tasks and everything else that is going on are discussed. Everybody is welcome - please come along. If you can't make the meeting, join us in the pub afterwards - we'll be in the Conan Doyle Bar, 71 York Place from around 9 p.m.

Detailed events programme

For all events it is better to book beforehand by emailing Sarah our social organiser, giving your contact details, this way you can be updated if there is a change in arrangements. But, if you are not sure what you're doing until the last minute, for most events it is possible to just turn up. Updates on social events are sometimes circulated on LCV News, our online newsgroup

Sunday 18 December 20:00 Mulled wine and mince pies

Sarah McConachie will be hosting our annual mulled wine and mince pie evening in her flat from 8pm. Please email her for further details. Bring along some wine or cider to mull and a festive snack.

Tuesday 20 December 18:30 Christmas market

We'll meet at 6.30pm by the Scott Monument before we take a stroll around the Christmas Market, sample the gluhwein and consider tackling the Big Wheel or the skating rink. We'll retire to a local pub afterwards.

Saturday 28 January 19:00 Burns Supper

Do you fancy wearing tartan, reciting Rabbie Burns' poetry or eating haggis, neeps & tatties? Then join us for a Burns supper at 7pm on Saturday 28 January at Edel's flat which is located next to Easter Road stadium. If you'd like to attend just pass your name to Louisa or Sarah and we'll provide you with the address and directions. There may be a limit on the number we can cater for, so do sign up quickly. Please take along something to drink or a dessert. Wearing an item of tartan is entirely optional, but more than welcome!

Wednesday 29 February 19:00 Filmhouse Cinema Evening

Meet us in the bar at the Filmhouse at 7pm where we'll be relaxing with a drink while deciding which film to see. Please tell Louisa or Sarah in advance if you're planning to come so we know to look out for you.

Monday 26 March 19:30 Pub Quiz at the Cumberland Bar

What's the second-longest river in Belgium? Why are there so many rounds involving pop tunes of the seventies and Olympic bronze medallists? Will the ace LCV pub quiz team ever regain the title or are we destined forever to be second-equal to the table of blokes with the Blackberry(TM)? Join us from 7.30pm in the Cumberland Bar, 1 – 3 Cumberland Street, where the answers to these important questions will be revealed. Contact Louisa or Sarah if you're coming so we can reserve you a seat.

Other events

Please Contact Sarah our Social Organiser if you have other ideas for socials, or if you want more details on the events we have planned.
